RO-eTransport Procedure: the system through which operators face fines of up to 100,000 RON for violating high-risk goods transport regulations
In December 2022, ANAF published in the Official Gazette a procedure for the use and operation of the national system for monitoring high-risk goods transport. Romania will monitor road transport of high-risk goods. “Reducing tax evasion is one of the objectives I have committed to this year. Romanians should benefit from public investments and a better standard of living supported by the most efficient tax collection. The implementation of both the Goods Radar, RO e-Transport, and RO e-Invoice are measures to prevent and reduce evasion that will prove effective soon,” emphasized Adrian Câciu, Minister of Finance. The RO e-Transport system includes IT modules for managing goods transport, generating unique registration codes for each shipment, interfacing with cameras and other traffic monitoring devices, and software components for integrated data analysis. The system will utilize data and information held by institutions or public authorities responsible for road transport and will be interconnected with other IT systems of the Ministry of Finance, the National Agency for Fiscal Administration, and the Romanian Customs Authority. Starting January 1, 2023, operators are required to upload information on high-risk transports and face fines of up to 100,000 RON for non-compliance.
